On March 22, Jaya Ganta, director of production systems for Tribune Company, received a “Patriot Award” for her support of one of her employees at the Baltimore Sun who is in the Air National Guard. Ganta received the award from Bill Carroll, director of Connecticut’s Employer Support to the Guard and Reserves Office (a division within the Dept. of Defense).



FOX reporters Laurie Perez (left) and Jim Altman (right) appeared on ESPN Radio’s “The Back Page” on March 3 to talk with host Jason Page about Altman’s story about a local teen with cerebral palsy, who although is confined to a wheelchair, is training to box.



On March 11, Fox CT Morning News anchors Jeff Valin (left) and Joy Lim Nakrin (right) chatted with Darlene Roberts, development director for Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, about the youth mentoring organization’s Bowl-for-Kids’-Sake fundraiser on March 27 and April 10. Hartford Courant’s JAVA columnist, MaryEllen Fillo, had the pleasure of speaking to the Windsor Women’s Club on March 9 at the LP Center. Fillo discussed her JAVA column and how she gathers the information for the popular column.
