On April 7, FOX CT anchor Sarah French spoke at the YWCA of Greater Hartford’s Young Women Leadership Conference at the Connecticut Convention Center just before the “In Company Of Women” luncheon. French discussed her career in journalism and her experience as a woman in the media industry.



FOX CT reporter Laurie Perez had the pleasure of emceeing UConn Health Center’s First Annual White Coat Gala – “Celebrating Medicine – The Fabric of Life” on April 10. The event, at the Marriott in downtown Hartford, honored Dr. Lawrence G. Raisz, a longtime member of the Health Center community and a preeminent expert in the management of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease.



On April 10, FOX CT chief meteorologist Garett Argianas played emcee and celebrity auctioneer at the St. Philip House Mad Hatter Auction and Gala, held at The Hartford Club. St. Philip House provides housing and social services for people who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, as well as their families and loved ones.



The Hartford Courant and FOX CT, in partnership with Wesleyan University, will host a Key Issues Forum, “The Person You Think You Know: Signs and Solutions of Campus Violence” on Tues., April 27, at the university’s Beckham Hall from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Almost half of college students have experienced abuse in a relationship, according to a 2008 study. At this free forum, four experts will look at relationship violence on campuses and how to recognize danger signs and get help.
