Nov. 16, Courant opinion columnist Kevin Rennie appeared on Colin McEnroe’s WNPR-FM radio program to discuss Connecticut’s political scene as the races for 2010 begin to heat up.

“Hold onto your wig: Madea appears to be coming to Hartford.” -- From Frank Rizzo’s Dec. 3 column titled, “Tyler Perry’s Blog Says He’s Bringing Madea Stage Show To Hartford.”

Deputy editorial page editor Tom Condon (left) presented the Tapestry Award in the organization category to Leadership Greater Hartford at an annual Donor Reception on Dec. 2 at The Polytechnic ON20. Accepting was Ted Carroll, president of Leadership Greater Hartford and Betsy Ceriello, chairwoman of the board of directors.

On Nov. 30, FOX 61 anchor Sarah French (center) and I (right) got together with some of the ladies from the Interval House to shoot a public service announcement on domestic violence. Pictured from left to right are Interval House’s development director, Rosemary Padin and executive director, Cecile Enrico; Sarah French; youth activist, Leandra Torruella; Karen Gaston, domestic violence survivor and Interval House victim court advocate; Susy Hurlbert, domestic violence survivor and Interval House volunteer; and me. It’s been a real honor to work with these ladies who have dedicated their lives to increase awareness of domestic violence in Connecticut, and strive to prevent and break the cycle of abuse.
