United Technologies Corporation recently sponsored Relay For Life of East Hartford helping to raise funds for cancer research and local health programs. Nearly $150,000 was raised at the event, including $25,000 donated from UTC. On July 29, Rich Graziano, publisher of the Hartford Courant and general manager of FOX CT and WCCT-TV was on hand at for Community Renewal Team’s first women’s-only golf tournament at Tower Ridge Country Club to benefit victims of domestic violence and Interval House. Camp Courant's Buddy Bash is scheduled for Friday, September 10 from 6-9 p.m. at its beautiful campsite in Farmington. The Connecticut Restaurant Association is once again providing the wonderful food. Amazing drinks, fantastic auctions and a lot of fun will also be part of the evening. FOX CT Reporters Jim Altman and Laurie Perez are the evening’s celebrity auctioneers and FOX CT Morning News Meteorologist Joe Furey will also help emcee the affair. Be sure to catch the 45th Annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon on FOX CT this Monday, Sept. 6 (Labor Day). FOX CT anchors and reporters will be on the air throughout the day working to raise dollars for this very important cause. Last year’s telethon raised $60.5 million dollars nationally.
